TLDR Method accurately measures finasteride concentration in medicine.
This document describes a method for determining the concentration of finasteride in pharmaceutical preparations using micellar electrokinetic chromatography (MEKC). The method was optimized, validated, and found to be specific, accurate, precise, and robust. The MEKC method was able to separate finasteride from its degradation products and other impurities. The method was also found to be suitable for the analysis of finasteride in commercial tablets. The authors suggest that the MEKC method can be used for routine quality control analysis of finasteride in pharmaceutical preparations.
