TLDR Best results found using acetonitrile, water, and trifluoroacetic acid or methanol mixture.
This document discusses the use of high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) to detect finasteride and related compounds. The focus is on selecting the appropriate mobile phase composition for optimal results. The authors found that a mixture of acetonitrile and water with trifluoroacetic acid or methanol produced the best results for the mobile phase composition. The study aimed to find the best mobile phase composition for detecting all nine compounds of Finasteride synthesis using RP HPLC. The recommended method had good repeatability and linearity for Finasteride, with detection limits ranging from 0.3-1.1 ng for all solutes.
