TLDR Wood sterol may help reduce hair loss caused by a high-fat diet.
This study investigated the role of wood sterol (WS) in mitigating hair follicle weakening induced by a high-fat diet (HFD). Optimal crystallization conditions were established to obtain WS with a purity of 96.38% ± 2.89%. Both male and female mice showed a significant increase in hair number following WS intervention, suggesting its potential efficacy in alleviating seborrheic alopecia. The findings highlight WS as a promising natural component for hair loss treatment, with implications for both genders.
