TLDR Liposomes improve minoxidil delivery to hair follicles, enhancing treatment for hair loss.
This study developed minoxidil sulfate-loaded liposomes (MXS-LPSs) using a thin-film hydration-dispersion method combined with an ammonium sulfate gradient-driven active loading technique. The MXS-LPSs demonstrated high drug encapsulation efficiency, stability at 4°C, and improved dermal deposition compared to MXS solution. The liposomal formulation significantly reduced skin permeation while enhancing follicular targeting, offering a promising approach for treating androgenic alopecia with improved therapeutic efficacy and safety.
