TLDR The treatment promoted hair growth safely and effectively.
The study evaluated the efficacy and safety of sequential treatment with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection followed by mesotherapy in treating various types of alopecia in males and females aged 20-60. Clinical improvement in hair count and thickness was observed in all patients, with no significant side effects other than mild pain and transient bleeding at the injection or microneedling site. In vitro, PRP demonstrated anti-apoptotic effects by upregulating BCl-2 expressions in cultured dermal papilla cells. The study concluded that this sequential treatment promoted hair growth.
