Role of Autologous Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) in Limited Alopecia Areata in Local Population

    TLDR PRP is a safe and effective treatment for limited alopecia areata.
    The study evaluated the efficacy and safety of autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) in treating limited alopecia areata in a local population. It involved 20 patients who received PRP injections once a month for three months, with follow-ups for six months. Results showed that 30% of patients had an excellent response, 25% had a good response, 20% had a fair response, and 25% had a poor response. Mild pain at the injection site was the only noted side effect. The study concluded that PRP is a safe, low-cost, and effective treatment for alopecia areata.
