TLDR PRP did not significantly regrow hair in alopecia areata totalis patients.
The study investigated the effect of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) on hair regrowth in 10 patients with alopecia areata totalis. PRP was injected into one side of each patient's scalp, and they were monitored for 4 months. Eight patients showed no hair regrowth, while two patients had less than 10% regrowth. The study concluded that PRP did not significantly affect hair regrowth (p > .05), and no side effects were observed.
