TLDR PRP injections safely increase hair density and thickness in androgenetic alopecia.
A study from 3 years ago found that autologous activated platelet-rich plasma injection is a safe and effective treatment for androgenetic alopecia, resulting in increased hair density and thickness. The study involved 20-30 patients who received multiple treatment sessions and showed no major complications. PRP injections promote hair growth by activating anti-apoptotic regulators and increasing the peri-follicular vascular plexus. More studies are needed to confirm its efficacy.
