TLDR Adding platelet-rich plasma improves hair density and thickness in androgenetic alopecia.
A study conducted on 126 patients with androgenetic alopecia (AGA) found that adding platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to medical therapy significantly improved hair density and thickness. The study suggests that PRP can be a safe and effective treatment option for AGA with minimal side effects and downtime. The most effective method of administration was found to be intradermal injection. The study recommends using PRP as an additional treatment for AGA.
