TLDR Biotin effectively treats hair loss, skin, and nail issues without overdose risk.
Biotin deficiency, caused by factors such as inflammatory bowel diseases, dietary issues, and certain medications, leads to symptoms like dry skin, dermatitis, impaired nail growth, and alopecia. Biotin plays a crucial role in the metabolism of fatty acids, amino acids, and carbohydrates, and is involved in the regulation of growth factors that affect hair follicle stem cells. Studies have shown that biotin is effective in treating various forms of alopecia and other skin and nail conditions, with no risk of hypervitaminosis even at high doses.
