TLDR Dr. SKS Hair Booster Serum effectively treats hair loss in women with PCOS.
The study evaluated the effectiveness of Dr. SKS Hair Booster Serum on 1,000 patients with female pattern hair loss (FPHL) and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). The serum, containing copper, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, thiamine, riboflavin, and biotin, was administered monthly for six months. Significant improvements were observed in hair growth rate, hair shaft diameter, terminal hair counts, and a reduction in vellus hair counts. Patients also reported improvements in hair fall rate, hair texture, hair volume, and scalp itching. No adverse events were recorded. The study concluded that the serum is an effective treatment for FPHL in PCOS patients, with the Global Photography Assessment (GPA) score improving from 2 to 9.95. The study acknowledged limitations, including the lack of comparison with other treatments and the need for further investigation into the serum's mechanisms of action.

Scalp biopsies are crucial for diagnosing hair loss conditions like Diffuse Unpatterned Alopecia (DUPA) and retrograde hair loss, as treatments like finasteride and dutasteride may not be effective if other conditions are present. Combining PPAR-GAMMA agonists with retinoids could improve treatments for conditions like Lichen Planopilaris.
