TLDR Using both platelet-rich plasma and minoxidil together gives the best results for hair growth in male rats with hair loss.
The study aimed to compare the effectiveness of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and minoxidil in treating androgenic alopecia (AGA) in male rats. The study involved 30 rats divided into different groups receiving different treatments. The results showed that the groups treated with minoxidil, PRP, or a combination of both had a significant increase in epidermal thickness, total hair follicles, and anagen hair follicles, and a decrease in telogen hair follicles compared to the AGA group. The group receiving both PRP and minoxidil showed the best results. The study concluded that PRP was more effective than minoxidil in treating AGA in rats, and the best results were obtained when PRP and minoxidil were used together.
