TLDR PRGF treatment is safer and more effective for hair loss than topical minoxidil.
A comparative clinical study between plasma rich in growth factors (PRGF) and topical minoxidil for the management of androgenetic alopecia (AGA) found that PRGF was a safe and effective treatment for AGA, with improved anagen/telogen results compared to topical minoxidil. The study involved 379 patients treated with either PRGF or minoxidil, and PRGF-treated patients had higher anagen hair increase improvement and telogen hair decrease improvement compared to minoxidil-treated ones. No adverse effects were reported for either treatment. The study suggests that PRGF may be a promising treatment option for AGA.
