TLDR PRP injections may improve hair thickness and density in female hair loss patients.
This document discusses the therapeutic efficacy of autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN) on female pattern hair loss (FPHL). The study found that PRP injections induced the expression of WNT, PDGF, and FGF in rabbit skin, which may improve hair thickness and density in FPHL patients. The study suggests that PRP injections may be useful in treating FPHL by inducing PDGF expression in immature adipocytes of alopecia lesions. However, further studies are needed to confirm the clinical efficacy of autologous CD34+ cell-containing, leukocyte-rich PRP treatment in patients with pattern hair loss.

Someone's brother tried Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) for hair loss; it had minimal effect on hair but improved skin appearance. Microneedling at home was suggested as a more sustainable alternative.
