Techniques like iontophoresis, electrotrichogenesis, intense pulsed light (IPL), and radiofrequency (RF) show promise in enhancing drug delivery, stimulating hair growth, and reducing unwanted hair. Scalp cooling, particularly effective in preventing chemotherapy-induced alopecia, has shown success rates of 50-70% in studies with up to 1,411 patients. RF technology is noted for its potential in both hair removal and growth, while IPL demonstrates significant hair reduction. The review emphasizes the need for further research to refine these techniques and establish their long-term efficacy, highlighting the potential for personalized approaches in trichology.
