TLDR Combining PRP with Minoxidil improves hair density and thickness more than Minoxidil alone.
This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated the additive value of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to topical Minoxidil in treating androgenetic alopecia by analyzing randomized controlled trials (RCTs). The study aimed to determine if PRP offers any additional benefits over Minoxidil alone. The findings suggest that combining PRP with Minoxidil may provide a significant improvement in hair density and thickness compared to using Minoxidil alone, indicating a potential advantage of the combined treatment for managing androgenetic alopecia.
