TLDR PRP is an effective and safe treatment for hair loss.
This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated the efficacy and safety of autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatment for androgenic alopecia (AGA) by analyzing 11 randomized controlled clinical trials. The results demonstrated that PRP injections significantly increased hair follicle count, hair thickness, and density compared to placebo, with patients reporting high satisfaction levels. Only minor, temporary side effects such as localized pain, bleeding, and itching were observed. The study concludes that PRP is an effective treatment for AGA, recommending future research to optimize treatment protocols and reduce adverse reactions.
