A systematic review and meta-analysis from 3 years ago found that combining finasteride and topical minoxidil is a safe and effective treatment for androgenetic alopecia, resulting in increased hair growth and density compared to using either treatment alone. The combination therapy was found to be well-tolerated and had a similar safety profile to monotherapy. However, further studies are needed to determine the optimal concentration of the combination therapy.
