TLDR PRP therapy may effectively treat hair loss, but more research needed.
This document is a meta-analysis of studies on the efficacy of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy for androgenetic alopecia (AGA). The study concludes that PRP may be an effective treatment for AGA, but further research is needed to refine treatment protocols and establish it as an approved therapy. The overall standardized mean difference was 0.51 in favor of PRP treatment when compared to baseline. PRP is a rich source of growth factors that can stimulate cell survival, proliferation, differentiation, vascularization, and angiogenesis.
