TLDR Lymphatic vessels are important for skin repair and could affect skin disease treatments.
Recent studies have revealed the significant role of lymphatic vessels in skin regeneration, a process previously known for its complexity and importance in repairing the skin and understanding dermatological conditions. Lymphatic vessels, once thought to be solely involved in fluid balance and immune response, are now seen as key players in interacting with skin stem cells to facilitate skin repair. This Mini Review summarizes the latest findings in the field, emphasizing the interaction between stem cells and lymphatic vessels in skin regeneration. It also discusses new translational approaches that could impact the treatment of skin diseases, highlights current research gaps, and suggests directions for future research in this rapidly developing area.
