TLDR H3K4me3 helps control RSPO3 to influence hair growth and development.
This study investigates the role of H3K4me3, a key histone modification, in the development of hair follicles, specifically focusing on dermal papilla cells (DPCs) in cashmere goats. Using CUT&Tag technology, researchers mapped the regulation of H3K4me3 and found that increasing its levels enhanced DPC proliferation and promoted Wnt signaling pathway-related gene expression. The study identified RSPO3 as a differentially expressed gene regulated by H3K4me3, which promotes DPC proliferation, inhibits apoptosis, and boosts Wnt pathway gene expression. These findings highlight the importance of H3K4me3 in regulating RSPO3 transcription, contributing to the understanding of hair follicle morphogenesis and development.
