TLDR JUNB boosts hair growth in goats by helping specific skin cells multiply.
The study explores the role of the transcription factor JUNB in hair follicle development and regeneration in cashmere goats, highlighting its impact on dermal papilla (DP) cells. JUNB was found to enhance the viability and proliferation of DP cells by activating the Wnt signaling pathway and increasing the expression of genes such as CTNNB1, Cyclin D1, and C-myc. In vivo experiments with C57 BL/6 mice confirmed that JUNB promotes hair regeneration. These results suggest that JUNB could be a molecular target for improving cashmere quality and breeding in goats.
