Adding PRP injections to topical minoxidil was found to improve hair density, though evidence quality was low. A review reported injectable dutasteride and growth-factor formulations achieved significant regrowth. Hair transplant complications ran 1.2–4.7%, serious events rare, though infection, numbness and scarring warrant counseling. Recipient-site necrosis after FUE was linked mostly to smoking, always causing scarring or graft failure. Scalp botulinum toxin A with minoxidil was reported to beat minoxidil alone for growth. Finasteride users showed slightly higher anxiety and depression rates, though absolute risk remained small. Low-dose oral minoxidil was reported equally effective with coexisting telogen effluvium. Low-level laser therapy was found to carry the strongest evidence among physical treatments. Ultrasound screening on oral minoxidil found no excess pericardial effusions, though causality was not established. Biotin supplements were found to lack high-quality supporting evidence.
