In a 160-patient trial, PRP combined with topical 5% Procapil was reported to improve satisfaction scores over PRP alone for pattern hair loss. Hair density thresholds guiding transplant versus micropigmentation were identified in women with pattern hair loss, recommending micropigmentation above roughly 105 hairs/cm². Polynucleotide scalp injections were found to reduce shedding and increase hair thickness. Injectable long-acting finasteride was reported to achieve sustained DHT reduction comparable to daily oral dosing. Intramuscular botulinum toxin was shown to improve density more than intradermal injections, with less pain. Recipient-area perifollicular erythema after transplantation was linked to greater graft shedding and lower survival, with folliculitis and late first washing as risk factors.
