Microneedling plus 5% minoxidil beat minoxidil with spironolactone or alone for female pattern hair loss; that combination also improved hair appearance in androgenetic alopecia. Injected dutasteride mesotherapy improved hair loss with mild self-limited side effects, mostly pain, in a retrospective series. Serum alarin was elevated in men with androgenetic alopecia and correlated with baldness severity. Pumpkin seed oil niosomes inhibited 5α-reductase in cells and cut shedding in vivo. Platelet-rich plasma showed no significant difference from triamcinolone injections for alopecia areata. Post-COVID hair loss was found to be mainly telogen effluvium resolving within months.
