Concentrated growth factor injections were found to increase hair density, follicle density and shaft diameter in androgenetic alopecia. Daily edelweiss extract serum was shown in a placebo-controlled trial to increase hair density. Lagerstroemia indica tonic was reported to increase total hair count in a small trial. Metformin in young prediabetic men was found to lower LH only in those with early-onset pattern baldness. Graded visual and trichoscopic scales were developed for assessing male and female pattern hair loss severity. Dermoscopic features in women were shown to distinguish female pattern hair loss from telogen effluvium. Keratin hair fiber fillers were reported to improve appearance and confidence with high satisfaction. Post-COVID hair loss was characterized as mainly self-resolving telogen effluvium, with topical minoxidil suggested to possibly speed recovery.
