Topical cetirizine added to minoxidil was reported to increase hair density in women, while low-level light therapy with minoxidil showed early superiority that waned. PRP across randomized trials was found to increase hair count, thickness and density, with side effects reported as temporary and minor, limited to local pain, bleeding and itching. PRP plus fibroblast growth factor was reported to improve hair count over PRP alone, and stromal vascular fraction injection was found to increase shaft caliber and hair count. Low index-to-ring finger ratio was linked to higher odds of severe loss, and abnormal hormonal profiles were tied to insulin resistance and more severe balding.
