    GlossaryMilia

small, white cysts on skin caused by trapped keratin

Milia, also known as milk spots, are small, white or yellowish cysts that typically appear on the face, especially around the eyes and cheeks. They form when keratin, a protein found in the skin, becomes trapped beneath the surface. While common in newborns, milia can also occur in people of all ages and are generally harmless, often resolving on their own without treatment.
