TLDR Melatonin solution helps treat hair loss in men and women.
The study investigated the use of topical melatonin as a treatment for androgenetic alopecia (AGA), a common form of hair loss. The study involved one pharmacodynamic study and four clinical pre-post studies, which evaluated the effects of a topical melatonin solution on patients with AGA or general hair loss. The results showed positive effects of the solution in the treatment of AGA in men and women, with good tolerability. The study concluded that the topical application of a cosmetic melatonin solution can be considered as a treatment option in androgenetic alopecia. Overall, the studies suggest that melatonin may be a promising treatment for AGA and early-stage hair loss.
