research Exosomal miRNA-181a-5p from Hair Follicle Dermal Papilla Cells Promotes Hair Follicle Growth and Development via the Wnt/β-Catenin Signaling Pathway
This study found that exosomal miR-181a-5p from dermal papilla cells (DPC) promotes hair follicle (HF) growth and development by activating the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway. The miR-181a-5p targets the Wnt inhibitor WIF1, leading to increased HF stem cell (HFSC) proliferation and reduced HFSC apoptosis. The findings suggest that miR-181a-5p could serve as a novel biomarker and therapeutic target for hair-related diseases and wool production in mammals. The study involved in vitro culture of HF organs and demonstrated the positive role of miR-181a-5p in hair growth.
