The study demonstrated that mangosteen pericarp extract significantly enhanced hair dermal papilla cell proliferation by 157.56% at 500 μg/ml, without compromising cell viability. It also promoted melanin synthesis and increased tyrosinase activity more effectively than established melanogenic agents. These results indicated that the extract could serve as a powerful natural remedy for addressing hair loss and premature graying.
