Glycolipid and Hormonal Profiles in Young Men with Early-Onset Androgenetic Alopecia: A Meta-Analysis

This meta-analysis looked at the glycolipid and hormonal profiles of young men with early-onset androgenetic alopecia (AGA) compared to controls. The study found that men with early-onset AGA had slightly worse glycemic and lipid profiles, which is in line with the strong association between early-onset AGA and metabolic syndrome or cardiovascular diseases. The study suggests that monitoring the glycemic and lipid profiles and BMI in men with early-onset AGA should be suggested to early detect any potential metabolic impairment. The study also hypothesizes that men with early-onset AGA may display the male PCOS-equivalent, but further investigation is needed.
