TLDR Larger positively charged gelatin nanoparticles are more effective for delivering treatments to hair follicles.
The study investigated the effect of gelatin nanoparticles' size and charge on their iontophoretic delivery to hair follicles. It concluded that larger positively charged gelatin nanoparticles (AL) showed higher TRITC-dextran 150 kDa signals after both passive and iontophoretic transport. Iontophoresis significantly enhanced the transport of gelatin nanoparticles, particularly for larger positively charged and medium-sized negatively charged ones (BS), suggesting expanded applications for these nanoparticles in treating hair follicle-related diseases.
