TLDR Topical Minoxidil 5% is as effective as the combination treatment for hair loss.
The study compared the efficacy of topical Minoxidil 5% alone versus a combination of topical Minoxidil 5%, Azelaic Acid 1.5%, and Tretinoin 0.01% in treating androgenetic alopecia. Conducted in a dermatology outpatient department, the study involved 46 patients, with 23 patients in each treatment group. Results showed a statistically significant increase in hair number and thickness in both groups, but no significant difference between the two treatments. The conclusion was that topical Minoxidil 5% was as effective as the combination treatment for androgenetic alopecia.
