TLDR Formulation B of the herbal hair oil promotes hair growth better than standard treatments and is safe for use.
This study investigates polyherbal hair oils derived from indigenous Bangladeshi plants, identifying Formulation B as particularly effective in promoting hair growth and exhibiting antimicrobial properties against Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans. In vivo tests on rabbits showed that Formulation B surpassed the standard 2% minoxidil treatment in enhancing hair regrowth, follicular activation, and hair shaft length and weight. The positive effects are attributed to the synergistic interactions of bioactive compounds like flavonoids and phenolics, which influence hair follicle cycling and reduce inflammation. The formulations were also found to be non-irritant, suggesting their safe use for topical application, and highlighting their potential as sustainable and effective solutions for hair loss and scalp disorders.
