TLDR Herbal hair oils with Coconut, Curry leaves, Amla, Fenugreek, and Onion promote hair growth and are safe.
The study formulated and evaluated herbal hair oils using extracts like Coconut, Curry leaves, Amla, Fenugreek, and Onion in virgin Coconut oil. The oils showed acceptable chemical properties, stable physicochemical properties over 45 days, dose-dependent antioxidant activity (13.8% to 66.5% inhibition), and antimicrobial efficacy (6 mm to 20 mm inhibition zones against Staphylococcus aureus). Sensitivity studies indicated no adverse reactions, and in-vivo tests demonstrated significant hair growth improvements. Formulation F3 was notably effective. The findings suggest these herbal oils have potential for promoting hair growth and addressing hair concerns, though further research and clinical trials are needed for human validation.
