TLDR Combining specific inducers helps dermal papilla cells regain hair-forming ability.
The study concluded that the combined use of osteogenic and adipogenic inducers, along with FGF2 and PDGF-AA, significantly promoted the optimal stimulation of dermal papilla cells (DPCs) toward the dermal papilla lineage, which is essential for hair follicle development and hair growth. This combination enhanced the expression of key dermal papilla markers, maintained spheroid structure, and improved hair-forming activity in vitro and in grafted nude mice. The findings suggested a potential therapeutic approach for hair loss and alopecia by effectively targeting and preserving the hair-regenerative properties of DPCs.

Finasteride is effective for hair loss but can cause sexual dysfunction and mental health issues in some users, leading to a polarized debate on its risks. Some switch to alternatives like Dutasteride or topical treatments to avoid side effects.
