TLDR Herbal hair oil with 7.5% amla, hibiscus, brahmi, and methi promotes hair growth as effectively as minoxidil.
The study focused on preparing and evaluating a herbal hair oil using amla, hibiscus, brahmi, and methi for hair growth stimulation. Each herb was tested individually at concentrations of 1-10%, and then combined in varying concentrations using three different preparation techniques. The formulation containing 7.5% of each herb showed excellent hair growth activity, comparable to 2% minoxidil solution, by enlarging follicular size and prolonging the anagen phase. The boiling method of oil preparation yielded the best results, suggesting a promising herbal alternative to minoxidil.
