TLDR Herbal oils from Cuscuta reflexa help with hair growth, dandruff, and hair fall.
The study investigated the nutraceutical potential of herbal oils formulated from the parasitic plant Cuscuta reflexa, collected from various host plants, for hair growth, dandruff control, and hair fall reduction. The oils, particularly those from Azadiracta indica and Zizyphus jujuba, showed significant positive effects in promoting hair growth, controlling dandruff, and reducing hair fall, with oil A showing the highest reduction in hair fall (96.38%). The study involved 30 human volunteers for hair fall, 18 for dandruff, and 18 rats for hair growth experiments. The oils also exhibited potent antimicrobial activity and were deemed safe with no adverse reactions reported. The findings supported the traditional use of Cuscuta reflexa in hair care and suggested its potential as a natural remedy for alopecia.
