TLDR Prunus mira nut oil helps hair grow by affecting the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway.
The study analyzed the chemical constituents of nut oil from Prunus mira and its mechanism in promoting hair growth. It identified key components such as vitamin E, β-sitosterol, α-tocopherol, oleic acid, and linoleic acid. Using a depilated mouse model, the study found that P. mira nut oil, in doses ranging from 15.06 to 60.26 mg/cm²/day, effectively promoted hair growth. The research suggested that the nut oil's mechanism involved the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway, which is crucial for hair follicle regeneration. This provided a potential alternative to existing hair growth treatments with fewer side effects.
