TLDR Phyto-vesicles of β-sitosterol may effectively treat hair loss.
This study developed phyto-vesicles of β-sitosterol for the treatment of androgenetic alopecia. The phyto-vesicles were created by complexing phosphatidyl choline with β-sitosterol, resulting in improved bioavailability. The effectiveness of the phyto-vesicles was tested on albino rats using a testosterone-induced alopecia model, and the results showed that the hair loss was minimized and was much better than the complex. The study suggests that phyto-vesicles of β-sitosterol could be a potential treatment for androgenetic alopecia.
