TLDR Pterocarpus indcus Willd extracts taken orally can reduce hair loss in rats.
The study investigated the effects of Pterocarpus indcus Willd extracts on androgenetic alopecia in a rat model. The rats were treated with testosterone propionate to induce alopecia and then given Pterocarpus indcus Willd extracts either through intragastric administration or topical application. After 56 days, results showed that high-dose intragastric administration significantly reduced hair loss and increased the number of hair follicles, with hair bulbs in the growth phase. However, topical application did not show a significant therapeutic effect. The study concluded that Pterocarpus indcus Willd extracts could alleviate androgenetic alopecia in rats, but transdermal delivery was ineffective.
