TLDR The herbal hair oil is safe and beneficial for scalp and hair health.
The study developed a polyherbal hair oil using an infusion of 18 herbs and oils fortified with vitamin E, aimed at supporting hair follicle function and addressing androgenetic alopecia. The oil demonstrated a pH of 5.2, an acid value of 4.1 mg KOH/g, and a saponification value of 76.8, with positive results in various tests, including saponification, solubility, and antimicrobial activity. It showed a specific gravity of 0.812, a refractive index of 1.264, and a viscosity of 29.32 cps. The oil appeared greenish brown, had a coconut-like odor, and caused no skin irritation. It exhibited antimicrobial properties with a 1.7 cm inhibition zone against Staphylococcus aureus, compared to 2.1 cm for amoxycillin. Preliminary tests indicated no adverse effects and benefits for scalp and hair health.
