TLDR Adding botulinum toxin A to standard hair loss treatments improves hair growth.
The study observed the efficacy of unilateral subcutaneous botulinum toxin A injections combined with finasteride and minoxidil in treating androgenic alopecia in 37 patients. Over 6 months, hair density increased significantly on the treated side compared to the control side (p < 0.05). The combination treatment had a 77.5% response rate with no significant side effects. The results suggest that adding botulinum toxin A to standard finasteride and minoxidil therapy enhances the treatment effect for androgenic alopecia.
