TLDR Combining PRP and laser treatments improves hair density best for androgenetic alopecia.
The study on 60 patients with androgenetic alopecia (AGA) found that both platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and 1550 nm fractional erbium-glass laser treatments are effective and safe, with the combination therapy showing the best results (80% improvement in hair density) compared to PRP alone (70%) and laser alone (65%). No significant side effects were reported, though PRP treatments caused mild to intense pain. The combination therapy's superior outcomes are attributed to the synergistic effects of wound healing and growth factors.
