TLDR Liposomal delivery systems improve drug absorption through the skin, offering potential for better treatments.
Transdermal liposomal delivery systems present a promising approach for enhancing drug penetration and therapeutic efficacy in treating various skin and systemic conditions. These systems, including ethosomes, transfersomes, and niosomes, improve drug bioavailability, reduce toxicity, and enhance transdermal transport efficiency. They have shown potential in promoting hair regrowth, treating psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and alopecia, and improving outcomes in skin infections and wound healing. Despite their advantages, challenges such as formulation complexity and clinical translation remain. Ongoing research aims to address these issues, with future advancements potentially revolutionizing drug delivery and therapeutic outcomes for inflammatory skin diseases and other conditions.
