    This systematic review evaluates spironolactone (SP) nano-formulations for topical treatment of skin hyperandrogenic disorders and chronic wounds, analyzing 13 articles and 15 studies. It highlights the potential of various nanocarriers, such as lipid nanoparticles, vesicular nanoparticles, polymeric nanoparticles, and nanofibers, to improve SP's bioavailability and skin penetration for conditions like acne, alopecia, hirsutism, and rosacea. Solid lipid nanoparticles (SLNs) and nanostructured lipid carriers (NLCs) offer improved drug stability and release, with NLCs showing faster drug release. Ethosomes demonstrated superior skin penetration, while polymeric nanoparticles effectively target hair follicles. Despite promising results, further clinical studies are needed to optimize safety, efficacy, and therapeutic doses of these nano-formulations.
