The study evaluated the potential of resveratrol-rich peanut callus extract in promoting hair growth and preventing hair loss. It involved 60 participants with mild to moderate alopecia, divided into placebo, 15% peanut callus extract, and 0.5% resveratrol groups over 12 weeks. The peanut callus extract group showed significant improvement in hair growth and reduction in hair loss, attributed to its high resveratrol content (191.97 ppm), which promoted hDPCs proliferation, inhibited 5α-reductase, and increased growth factors (IGF-1, KGF, HGF, VEGF). The extract also provided protection against oxidative stress and inflammation. The findings suggest that peanut callus extract is a promising natural ingredient for hair loss treatments.
