TLDR A new wearable device stops hair loss and boosts hair growth safely.
The pilot study investigated the effectiveness of the niostem device, a novel wearable appliance delivering low-level bioelectrical stimulation, in treating androgenetic alopecia (AGA). Over 6 months, 21 patients used the device daily for 30 minutes. Results showed a progressive increase in hair counts by 12% at 3 months and 19.2% at 6 months, with all participants experiencing increased hair growth and density by the end of the study. Terminal hair counts also improved, and no adverse effects were reported. The device enhanced users' self-perception, suggesting its potential for broader application in larger studies.
