TLDR The combination of specific chemicals improves hair density in women.
The study demonstrated that a combination of pyridine-2, 4-dicarboxylic acid diethyl ester and resveratrol synergized in vitro to stabilize hypoxia-inducible factor 1-alpha (HIF-1α) and increase the expression of related genes, while resveratrol also reduced oxidative stress in hair follicle and hair matrix cells. A clinical study involving 79 Caucasian female subjects showed that this combination significantly increased hair density from 1.5 months of topical treatment. The findings highlighted the potential of this combination to improve hair density through its effects on the HIF-1α pathway and antioxidant properties.
