TLDR The combination of specific chemicals improves hair density in women.
The study demonstrated that a combination of pyridine-2, 4-dicarboxylic acid diethyl ester and resveratrol had a synergistic effect on biological pathways associated with hair growth, particularly by stabilizing the hypoxia-inducible factor 1-alpha (HIF-1α) protein and increasing the expression of its target genes. Resveratrol also reduced oxidative stress in hair follicle and hair matrix cells. A clinical study involving 79 Caucasian female subjects showed that this combination significantly increased hair density after 1.5 months of topical treatment. The findings highlighted the potential of this combination to enhance hair density, supported by its antioxidant properties and effects on the HIF-1α pathway.
